Toward biomedical research that is more predictive, ethical, and centered on human biology.

OSA (Italian acronym for Oltre la Sperimentazione Animale, “Beyond Animal Experimentation”) is an Italian NGO that advocates for an innovative and scientifically rigorous model of biomedical research, grounded in advanced technologies and guided by strong principles of ethical responsibility.

Founded by researchers and health professionals, OSA supports the progressive transition away from inadequate traditional models — including animal experimentation — toward the development and integrated use of methodologies that are more relevant to human biology. These approaches can generate more predictive knowledge, advance personalized medicine, and strengthen disease prevention.

Through authoritative scientific contributions, the association promotes transparency, rigor, and responsibility toward people, animals, and the environment, with the goal of making research more reliable, more aligned with scientific evidence, and more beneficial to public health.
